Springtime fun

Thank goodness today was warm enough and sunny enough for the kids to play outside, for me to get loads of washing dried on the line and to have the windows and doors open as last night I discovered we had run out of heating oil.

One of the few downsides of living in the countryside is that there is no mains gas supply so we have a great big tank of kerosene in the garden which is manually filled up from a fuel tanker when we phone up the supplier and ask for more. As the transmitter is not working we were unaware that we were down to zero until the radiators went cold yesterday evening. This morning Bealers used a garden cane and a torch to diagnose the empty tank problem. Hopefully a local supplier will be able to get a 900 litre delivery to us this week.

Scarlett still enjoyed a basin-bath as I used the kettle to heat her mini bathette. She really loves her bath & I'm hoping that one day soon (or even now perhaps?) she will begin to understand that it means the end o her day and now it is bedtime. She seems to have no problem going to bed by 7pm which is so fantastic for us grown ups as we get chance to cook/eat/clean away, have a shower/bath, chat before bed.
